Fishing Reports

Gallatin River - Sat, May 7th

Looks as if we might be getting our first little taste of runoff on the Gallatin; the river was chalky with about two feet of visibility this morning before work. That’s plenty fishable though. The flows have increased steadily over the past week or so, but there hasn’t been any sudden increase so that shouldn’t put the fish off too bad. Nymphing will be your best bet with the bigger stoneflies and some sort of flashy beadhead dropper. I had a few people say they had good luck fishing attractor dries, but today might not be the best day for that. On an overcast day like today a streamer or two wouldn’t be a bad choice either.
