Missouri River - Fri, May 13th
After a couple tougher days mid-week, the river really came back on yesterday and fished very well subsurface. Right now it has a lot to do with the flows coming out of Holter - steady flows and the fish eat but if the flows go up and down several times...then it takes the fish a little while to redistribute and get back into feeding mode. The river is still pretty dirty below the Dearborn and Prickly Pear is putting in some color too but things are settling and the color on the lower river is improving. Yesterday was one of those days when the river fishes about well as it ever does on nymphs in the afternoon...if the flows will remain stable for awhile this should continue right on through 18-20000 CFS just so long as they raise it in stages. Wade fishing is tough right now so plan on bringing a boat and a buddy that likes to row!
