Fishing Reports

Upper Madison - Sat, Jul 16th

The word has certainly been out on the upper the last week and it's been busy with the heaviest boat traffic being in the Lyon's to Story Ditch stretch of the river. We've had boats out throughout the river and have had sporadic dry fly fishing the last two days on Salmonflies and Golden Stones. There are decent numbers of caddis, yellow sallies, and PMD's out as well. As the flows continue to drop, the fish that are feeding off of the banks will be more accessible. Right now, expect to have sporadic dry fly fishing throughout the day but it can be worth it when the fish do turn on the big dries.Nymphing has been getting better lower on the river with a very good small fish bite between Varney and Ennis
