Fishing Reports

Upper Madison - Wed, Jul 13th

The flows continue to drop on the Upper and fishing has been good. Salmonflies are out and fish are feeding on them. Over the last few days we’ve had some really good reports of dry fly fishing on Salmonflies. The bugs are still below Palisades, but I’ve talked to some that have caught fish on the dries much higher even though they didn’t see any bugs up there. Goldenstones and Sallies are out to and fish are feeding on them. The crowds are following the Salmonfly hatch, so anticipate some river congestion. Nymphing will also work with Salmonfly or Goldenstone with San Juans, Yellow Sally nymphs and other small beadheads off the back. You may also see some evening caddis is you stay out later.
