Area Lakes - Sat, Jul 2nd
The fishing at Hyalite has slowed down, especially around the inlet. If you head up there now, you’ll probably do better around the damn. Fish are still eating Chironomids and leeches. We did wee some fish eating midges up on the surface early yesterday morning. Dry fly fishing will probably improve as the summer progresses. We’re still hearing good reports from Hebgen and even some of some early callibaetis. People are still catching more fish subsurface on Chironomids and the like. Quake and Ennis are still dirty due to the influence of the Madison. Harrison is seeing excellent hatches of water skiers and maybe even a couple of damsels. It looks like a belly boat is going to be good property for at least a week or two more.
