Lower Madison - Fri, Aug 12th
Fish are still eating on the Lower, but it wasn't exactly red hot. In the morning fish were eating sculpins and crayfish trailed by a little Lightning Bug or Soft Hackle Lightning Bug, with the Lightning Bug variations catching most of the fish. We hooked a few good sized fish as well. Midday was more of the same, but we also were able to get a few fish to eat hoppers too. So, while we were on the water we were saying the fishing was a little slower than it's been, but in retrospect, we all caught some nice fish, lost a few that were a little bigger, and caught fish on hoppers. We also only saw one other boat fishing. Not a bad day. By 2pm we were already off the water and headed to lunch.
