Lower Madison - Tue, Aug 23rd

The Lower has been its usual finicky late-summer self. The fishing has either on or off depending on the day, with very little middle ground. The days that it’s fishing good you’ll know about it. Nymphing will be the best bet, but later in to day you will probably see yourself forced to the surface due to lots of floating weed. Some days hopper fishing has been really good, but other not so much. If you decide to take a chance on the slot machine that is the Lower right now you have the potential to have a fantastic day. There have also been some bigger fish coming out of the Lower this year.
