Upper Madison - Wed, Sep 21st
Me and Toby hit the Upper for a quick afternoon’s fishing. Wasn’t great, but wasn’t bad either. Caught a few fish in the deeper runs on worms and small baetis nymphs. Most of the action was on top with attractor dries. Wulffs and humpys were best. Fish where holding in seams and pockets behind rocks. We literally ran into a swarm of flying ants which covered Toby’s windshield on the way home. We didn’t notice any on the water, but the fish go nuts for flying ants when they’re out, so make sure your Upper plans include a hand full of flying ants.
