It sounds like the walk and wade water is still a viable option.  The water is very high and dirty but if you really want to fish a river, you could actually catch a fish there.  Throw big junk around the banks and stay out of the water.  Wading is a bad idea and unnecessary.  If you’re dieing to stand in the water, go fish Hebgen.
