YNP - Fri, Jun 3rd
The Firehole has come up a bit in the last couple of days but still well within the range of fishable. You might need to go subsurface to have as consistent of fishing as we previously had with dries but you should still have a chance for hatch fishing until it gets really warm and even the Firehole blows out. The river will hold out a little longer above Nez Perce Creek, and even now it’s probably better up there. If the fish aren’t up you can try small woolies and soft hackles, leaning more towards the buggers as the water gets dirtier. Usually the Firehole clears up pretty quick once it finally gets its run off. Hopefully that will be the case this year so we have a moving water dry fly option left.
