Gallatin River - Tue, Dec 27th
The Gallatin continues to fish well with the warm weather. I snuck out of work early yesterday because the weather was just too nice to ignore. I got to the river above the Lava Lake about 1:30 and nothing was going on. I got some fish to eat worms and midge pupa then started to see some fish rising at the tail out of the pool. A good old Griffith’s Gnat did a good job of fooling the fish but I did an even better job of pulling it away from them. Still got a couple fish on dries after work, how often can we pull that off in December? Another friend was fishing down in the valley and said the Gallatin down here nymphed well yesterday, also. Most of his fish came on a rubberlegs.
