Fishing Reports

Gallatin River - Thu, Dec 1st

The Gallatin had been fishing well earlier this week, but colder weather has slowed things down.  The middle of the day is best when the water warms up a bit.  Nymphing is the best way to catch fish now, but the occasional midge hatch has some fish feeding on the surface.  Smaller stonefly nymphs and midge larva are effective when dead-drifted in slower, deeper holes.  Use enough weight to get the flies down to the fish because trout aren't going to move too far for something to eat.
