Fishing Reports

Lower Madison - Mon, Feb 6th

Fishing has been quite good over on the Lower Madison.  We've caught a break from the wind this weekend which has made it much easier to fish.  Looks like there is no major winds forecasted for at least the next couple of days, so now is a good time to head over for some good February fishing.  Deep nymph rigs fished in the buckets, slots and around boulders has continued to be effective.  Crayfish, buggers, worms and midges have all been good choices for nymphing.  Midge hatches have made for some dry fly fishing, and pods of smaller to medium size Rainbows have been feasting on them.  Some cloud cover is usually good for getting fish to come up off the bottom of the river for midges or to chase a larger meal.  Sunny days make for more spooky fish which means you will find them at the bottom of holes.
