Missouri River - Mon, Aug 22nd
Trico’s are going on the Missouri now, but it isn’t like every fish in the river is destroying them. You will find some picky fish up if you look and if you’re diligent you should catch some. It’s a similar story with the hoppers. If you try real hard you’ll probably catch some fish on them, and some days will probably be little better than that, but nymphing has been the most consistent mid-day. Fish are still rising in the evenings to caddis and that’s been about the most solid dry fly fishing on the Mo. The streamer bite has been pretty, good as well. It doesn’t sound like the weeds are too much of a problem rite now with the higher than average flows.
