Missouri River - Thu, Jan 12th
Fishing has been excellent despite heavy winds blowing on most days. Any day without much wind would be a great time to make the drive up to Craig. The most popular stretch has been from the dam down to Wolf Creek Bridge since the water is warmer the closer to Holter Dam you go. The usual winter nymph rigs up for the MO have been catching lots of fish. Midge larva in black has been quite effective along with the usual worm and scud stuff. Pink is the hot color at this time of year. Pink sowbugs, pink eggs and pink lightning bugs are all good choices now. When conditions are right there have been some fish rising to midge dries. Slowly stripped streamers are still picking up some fish.
