Fishing Reports

Missouri River - Sat, Aug 13th

Dry fly fishing is really just getting going on the Mo.  Trico’s are starting in the early morning, but the fish really aren’t on them yet.  You can probably find a few fish up if you really look but it’s going to take some effort.  Later in the day you may find some fish up on PMD’s.  Again, this is going to take a concerted effort and overcast days will probably offer more surface opportunities.  Evening caddis have consistently brought fish up to the surface but isn’t always easy.  The evening rise can be a little frantic.  Subsurface fishing has been the most productive with Czech Nymph and scud/sowbug type patterns and small mayfly and attractor nymphs.  For now you should count on nymphing most of the day.  Dry fly fishing should continue to improve.
