Spring Creeks - Fri, Aug 26th
There are plenty of very picky fish in the creeks at this point in the summer. Fishing has been good for experienced anglers who are patient. Midges are out in the early morning and there are still some pmd and sulpher hatches in the late morning. Trico spinners can also work well around late morning. Hoppers, ants and beetles have also been catching a few fish throughout the day. Fishing small mayfly nymphs is reliable when the surface action isn’t. Using nymphs without beads seems to trick these finicky trout better than the standard beadhead nymphs. Leeches will also get some attention at times.
