Upper Madison - Mon, Sep 26th
The upper has probably been the most consistent of everything around Bozeman the last week or so, which isn't saying too much! We've been having some good days above Palisades and below Varney, but are still having to work pretty hard at it parts of the day. Bright sunny days keep some fish looking up for small attractor patterns mid-day as there are plenty of hatching insects around. You'll see some Tricos mid-morning followed by some BWO's and Pseudo's later in the day, in addition to hoppers and ants which continue to be around in good numbers. Nymphing has been the most reliable in the mornings and late afternoons for us.
